Utomata is currently available as a beta desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Utomata runs entirely on your computer. It does not require an account, collect telemetry, or send your programs or usage data anywhere.

These beta builds are distributed independently and are not currently code-signed or notarized. Your operating system may therefore display a security warning the first time you open the application.

macOS

Download the macOS build and move Utomata to your Applications folder.

On first launch, macOS may report that the application cannot be verified.

  1. Try to open Utomata once.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down and click Open Anyway next to the Utomata message.
  4. Confirm by clicking Open.

You only need to do this once for that installation.

Windows

Download and run the Utomata installer.

Windows Defender SmartScreen may display Windows protected your PC because the current beta is not code-signed.

  1. Click More info.
  2. Click Run anyway.

Windows 11: Systems with Smart App Control enabled may block unsigned applications without presenting a Run anyway option.

Linux

The Linux release is provided as a .deb package for Debian-based distributions and has currently been tested on Ubuntu.

Install it by opening the package with your software installer, or from the terminal:

sudo apt install ./utomata-*.deb
